These are some common concerns and curiosities surrounding the idea of participating in mental health counseling.

If you have any other questions that are not answered here, please do not hesitate in contacting me.

Currently we have physical office space location located at:

3731 NW 40th Ter Suite B

Gainesville, FL 32606

We are also able to provide services statewide in Florida via telehealth. Telehealth services may or may not be covered by your insurance plan.

We seek counseling in our everyday lives from our friends, family, church or social media. The truth is that sometimes that’s not enough. Pursuing counseling does not mean that something is wrong with you. In fact it means the opposite. The people that we have had the privilege of working with have pursued counseling because they are ready for change.  It is our belief that just as you pursue help with your physical health; you should not neglect your mental health.

When you come in for your first (intake) session your therapist will discuss your intake paperwork and answer any questions or concerns. During this session the therapist will also be looking to start to build a rapport with you.  During this session and your subsequent sessions,  you may start to work on identifying your goals. Overall, your sessions will be uniquely related to your needs and goals.  You may or not be given a relevant DSM diagnosis.  Sometimes, a diagnosis is required by your insurance or EAP provider in order to process payment for treatment.  No diagnosis will be applied without first discussing it with you.

Self-pay rates currently range between $75-$150 per session after your initial intake appointment. We also provide a sliding scale to our clients on a limited basis. Reach out to us today and let’s discuss how we can help you or try to provide you with referrals if necessary.  If you have insurance, you may be able to receive services using your In or Out of Network Benefits but will require prior authorization from your carrier.

Specialty Services:

$125 for Hypnotherapy Session-60 mins

$60 for Vibroacoustic Sound Therapy (30 mins)

For your very first session (Intake) you will be given a compressive assessment to determine your treatment needs and therapy goals.  Intake Sessions are 1.5 hours long and are priced as follows:

Frequently Asked Questions About Hypnosis

These are some common concerns and curiosities surrounding the idea of participating in hypnotherapy.

If you have any other questions that are not answered here, please do not hesitate in contacting me.

Hypnosis feels like being very relaxed.  You are not in a state of sleep, but rather in a state of calm and peace.  You are alert and aware of where you are and what is happing around you, although you may feel as if you may drift off to sleep at any moment.

Hypnosis is a natural state of mind; people are often surprised that they hear every word and could get up and walk out of the room at any moment. Nothing will happen during hypnosis that you are unaware of and you are always in control. Unless you enter a deeper state, you may not seem any different, just very relaxed.  Most people are surprised at just how relaxing it is.

Hypnotherapy using hypnosis techniques can help treat a variety of issues including:

  • Anxiety
  • Stress
  • Phobias
  • Depression
  • Sleep Problems
  • Smoking
  • Weight Control
  • Substance Abuse
  • Sexual Dysfunction
  • Trauma Resolution
  • Bad Habits
  • Spontaneous Behaviors (nail biting, hair pulling, skin picking, bed wetting, etc.)

While being under hypnosis may allow you to let down your defenses against change, it is mainly designed to access your subconscious in a way where you may not otherwise open up during states of conscious alertness.  You may be able to have better recall of old memories and experiences of events and incidents that you may have repressed.

In a clinical setting, your therapist will explain in detail the process of hypnosis and gain your agreement on participating in hypnotherapy techniques whether using trance or non-trance strategies.  In the first session, the problem to be address will be identified and goals will be established collaboratively.
